Building Block Calculator

Figure out how many blocks your foundation needs. There is always a row on both outside edges, with middle rows no more than 6 feet apart, so a 12ft-wide building gets 3 rows. Piers along each row are no more than 6 feet apart. Enter your width, length, and how many blocks high you want to stack.

How rows are counted: one row sits on each outside edge, with no more than 6 feet between width rows and no more than 6 feet between piers along the length. So a 12ft × 16ft building = 3 rows × 4 along the length = 12 piers.

Blocks high is how tall each pier stack is. Total blocks = piers × blocks high = 24.

Important disclaimer: Block quantities are estimated for a level installation area with the same number of blocks at each pillar. If your installation area is uneven or sloped, additional blocks may be required and the actual quantity may change. This is a planning estimate only; confirm the support requirements for your specific building and site.
